Dataroots researches, designs and develops AI-solutions & platforms for various sectors, always with a strong focus on robust DataOps and MLOps. Within Dataroots Research, we do applied research to bring emerging AI technologies to various sectors such as IoT, HealthCare, Smart Cities. Our team is an active participant in the Belgian research ecosystem and participates in various R&D consortia.

As an R&D engineer, you work on technological innovative projects for Dataroots’ customers from feasibility study to the development of a MVP (TRL-4/5). You thrive in challenging environments, you excel at researching and developing cutting edge AI solutions. You actively keep up to date with the latest developments in the field and enjoy sharing knowledge with your Dataroots colleagues, customers or an audience with a less technical background. As an R&D engineer, you also participate in the writing of R&D project proposals.

Job requirements

💪   The Skills

  • You have a Master or PhD in a quantitative field (AI, mathematics, physics, computer science) or equivalent through experience.
  • You get energy from tackling challenges in the context of different industry domains and evolving scopes.
  • You have programming experience with libraries and toolkits such as CUDA, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Huggingface.
  • You are able to design and execute on our research agenda.
  • You have experience in various machine learning and deep learning fields (computer vision, reinforcement learning, NLP, optimization)
  • You think out of the box and have a solution oriented mindset
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You speak English fluently plus at least Dutch or French.

🇧🇪 Our offices are located in Leuven and Ghent. These locations are always available for brainstorm sessions or team events. As a dataroots consultant, you will be doing on-site visits at our clients. However, a significant portion of our work is done remotely.
