As a Junior Data Analyst at Dataroots, you'll embark on a journey to become a key player in a team bridging the gap between business and data teams. Under the guidance of experienced data consultants, you'll gain hands-on experience in translating business needs into tangible data and AI-driven solutions. You'll learn to gather business requirements from clients, identify and assess the necessary data, and build or collaborate to build and deploy effective data solutions.

During a 1-month training period, in September 2024, we'll equip you with the skills you need to become a proficient Data Analyst. You'll learn to embrace a role that will extend beyond technical expertise as you translate complex outcomes into business impact, presenting results to stakeholders in clear and understandable terms. Along the way, you'll contribute to developing the right capabilities and governance structures within organisations, ensuring that data solutions deliver sustainable long-term value.

  • Assist clients in bridging the gap between business and data teams
  • Help translate business needs into concrete data and AI-driven requirements
  • Gather business requirements from clients and identify relevant data sources
  • Build and deploy effective data models
  • Crunch the numbers, deep dive into the data, spot opportunities, understand what is going on to support the decision making
  • Translate technical outcomes into business impact and present results to stakeholders
  • Contribute to developing data governance frameworks and capabilities within organisations

Job requirements

🔎  The profile

  • You have worked on a data visualisation project, either in an academic or professional setting.
  • You are excited about the potential of data, AI, and digital to solve real-world problems.
  • You have either a business degree and a technical affinity or a technical degree and a business affinity.
  • You are curious and possess a healthy dose of drive and ambition.


💪 The Skills

  • You have a good overview of the (big-)data ecosystem and know how different components fit in a data engineering or machine learning solution.
  • You have a first experience with data visualisation tools like PowerBI or Tableau, as well as programming languages such as SQL, Python, and/or dbt, in a work or school project.
  • You understand how to collect and identify business requirements and translate these into functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • You are developing your technical ability and soft skills to align both technical and business stakeholders and drive change.
  • You have a can-do attitude, you take ownership of the project to ensure timely delivery & scalable solution through strong project management capabilities.
  • You know how to build storylines and translate complex solutions into clear & understandable content and context and you are constantly developing your skills in this area.
  • You speak English fluently and either Dutch or French.
